Eurofins Environment is looking for a skilled and dedicated chemist for a permanent position as a development chemist at our laboratory in Vejen. The position is initially targeted at a forthcoming 4-year development and research project, which is carried out in collaboration with a large number of Danish and international partners. In connection with the 4-year R&D project, we offer you the opportunity to do an Industrial PhD in collaboration with the research group Analytical Chemistry at University of Copenhagen, Section for Environmental Chemistry and Physics ( Analytical Chemistry – Institut for Plante- og Miljøvidenskab - Københavns Universitet ). You will work on a project aimed at developing and implementing an AI‑assisted decision‑support tool to help wastewater treatment plants optimize their treatment processes. The tool will be based on non‑target screening (NTS) analysis of micropollutants combined with AI‑supported mechanistic modelling. It is expected to predict micropollutant fate, removal efficiency, and associated risks. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen (KU) and several other partners, including wastewater treatment plants. We expect you to have a relevant candidate degree, e.g. M.Sc. in chemistry with knowledge of and interest in analytical chemistry. It will be a great advantage if you have worked with method development and one or more of the chromatographic methods. In addition, it will be an advantage if you have knowledge of or an interest in AI. You speak, read and write English fluently and have interest in learning Danish. You work systematically and efficiently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a strong focus on quality and detail. The workplace is our laboratories in Vejen (close to Kolding/Vejle/Fredericia) in Jutland. Some travel activity must be expected and if it is agreed that the position should be part of a PhD program, there will be periodic residence in Copenhagen in connection with courses.
