Automation and Commissioning Engineer

We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Automation and Commissioning Engineer to join our Engineering department. In this role, you will work on the design, commissioning, and support of industrial automation systems for customer projects worldwide. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from development and testing to on-site commissioning and handover. This position suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working close to machines, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, and commission PLC-based automation systems
Develop and maintain control software using Siemens Classic (STEP 7) and TIA Portal
Configure and commission Siemens and ABB drives
Develop and support Wonderware / AVEVA HMI and SCADA applications
Participate in FAT, SAT, and on-site commissioning activities
Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams
Provide technical documentation and support to customers
Travel to customer sites globally for commissioning and support (up to 18 weeks/year)
What are our expectations?Degree or equivalent education in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Strong hands-on experience with:
Siemens PLCs (Classic STEP 7 and TIA Portal)
Siemens and ABB drives
Siemens SCADA systems
Solid understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and field devices
Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting on industrial sites
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 18 weeks per year
Good communication skills in English and Finnish
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
