Backend Engineer - Gaming

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our dynamic Gaming Team, comprising skilled BE Engineers and QA experts dedicated to developing and maintaining our cutting-edge Gaming Engine. As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in utilising the latest technologies to craft cloud-based, distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices capable of handling a staggering volume of gaming transactions—approximately 1.3 billion per month. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including the Regulatory Reporting Team and game operations teams, you'll spearhead innovative projects such as LeoJackpot while ensuring seamless API integrations and optimising performance for an unparalleled gaming experience. This role is perfect for software craftsmen who thrive in an environment of continual learning, value effective communication, and are eager to push the boundaries of technology within the gaming industry.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

● Developing and maintaining microservices using Java, Spring, and JPA

● Integrating new gaming providers into the platform via API integration

● Optimising performance and scalability of backend systems

● Collaborating with frontend teams to expose game data via APIs

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

● 3+ years of experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring and JPA

● Relational databases such as MySQL

● Building scalable and fault-tolerant systems, and are familiar with microservices

NICE TO HAVES

● Experience with Elasticsearch, Kafka, Kotlin, Akka, Hazelcast, Consul, Datadog, DOCKER, Node.js

● GraphQL, Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform
