Senior Geospatial or GIS Analytics Expert

About this role

Responsibilities

• Design the data model and cloud storage architecture (Azure / AWS / GCP) that underpins all spatial analysis.
• Stand up and maintain a PostGIS database with clean schemas, spatial indexes, and version-controlled datasets.
• Publish internal services — GeoServer, tile endpoints, and lightweight APIs — so the team can query and export without needing a GIS desktop.
• Build automated ETL pipelines (Python + SQL) to source, clean, harmonise, and refresh national datasets: cadastre/parcels, slope and topography, flood zones, electricity grid and capacity, roads, fibre, and planning constraints.

Requirements

• Own data lineage, licensing compliance, and refresh SLAs. When a dataset is wrong, you are the person who knows and fixes it.
• Work with national sources across your target markets, for instance, MML (Finland), Lantmäteriet (Sweden), Kadaster (Netherlands), TSO/DSO grid data — and know their quirks.
• Coordinate with other team members to design and implement a documented, reproducible multi-criteria scoring methodology: fatal flaw screening, suitability scoring, scalability ranking.
• Produce ranked site shortlists and board-ready map packs that investment and development tea
