🧑🏻‍💻 About the role

First things first: you want to know what you’re actually applying for. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distill it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer who’s excited to build great products and develop their craft alongside an experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career to work on real-world problems, learn from talented engineers, and contribute to meaningful projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Contribute to building and maintaining software solutions for our hospitality platform, learning about high availability, scalability, and multi-regional systems along the way

Work on backend services using .NET deployed on Azure, and front-end applications using React, JavaScript & TypeScript

Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into working software

Leverage AI tools and coding agents as a natural part of your development workflow to accelerate your output and learning

Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback — as a core part of your professional growth

Learn and contribute across multiple technologies, broadening your skills rather than staying in a single lane

Gradually take ownership of features and small projects as you develop confidence and expertise

Participate in the day-to-day activities of the team, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions

Actively seek feedback and act on it — we value people who take their own growth seriously

You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

Some professional experience building software (internships, contract work, or a first role — it all counts)

A genuine passion for technology and software engineering — you code because you love it, not just because it's a job

Familiarity with at least one of our core technologies (.NET, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL) — you don't need to know them all, but you should be keen to learn

Comfort with AI-assisted development — you already use tools like Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar coding agents as part of how you work

A growth mindset: you're curious, you ask questions, and you actively look for ways to improve

Enough understanding of software fundamentals (version control, testing, APIs, databases) to be productive with guidance

Effective communication in English — you can articulate your ideas and ask for help when you need it
