About this role

This role is responsible for supporting the implementation of the HelloFresh HSMS at the Windmill distribution centre (DE21 postcode). The Windmill features various temperature-controlled zones where operatives process and assemble HelloFresh boxes, supported by automated conveyance systems and fork truck operations. You will provide advice and support to managers and employees, driving EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) improvements to ensure a safe and healthy environment across these complex operations. The role manages the on-site Health & Safety team to minimize risks and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization

What You Will Be Doing:

Working with the Assistant Director of Health and Safety to support the UK Operations teams in implementing the HelloFresh EHSMS (Environment, Health and Safety, Management System).

Supporting the UK Operations teams in delivering task and area risk assessments as required, and the development of risk reduction and management strategies.

Promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation by encouraging employee engagement, open communication and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.

Implementing and managing a program of regular safety audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of safety arrangements. Collaborate with relevant departments to address any identified deficiencies promptly.

Evaluating the safety performance of external contractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet the necessary safety standards.

Engaging and developing direct reports to achieve optimum performance and enabling colleagues to meet their full potential

Creating and delivering training linked to the EHSMS for Operations and other relevant Leaders.

Tracking and Reporting on EHSMS performance linked to incident rates and developing actions to drive improvements where required.

Who You Are:

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working in a Health & Safety role.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

In depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices applicable to warehouse / food manufacturing / logistics environment

Ability to drive a culture of health & safety, and compliance.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
