I.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
:
The Manager, Plant Protection and Emergency Services, will be responsible for providing guidance, oversight, and management of the site’s emergency management and loss prevention programs for the Durham Hilleman, BCG and Teknika facilities. They will work with cross-functional teams to effectively and safely operate and maintain the emergency management organization and its systems to support all entities at the Hilleman, BCG and Teknika sites.
The manager is responsible for ensuring site compliance with all security, emergency preparedness and response regulations, as well as ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes, and all required loss prevention programs. The position prepares and maintains site compliance with applicable regulations (NFPA, OSHA, EPA, DHS, GSE), and local standards and develops procedures, preventative maintenance plans and processes to ensure robust programs. The manager is also responsible for overseeing the sites Emergency Response team and Compliance Technicians and reports to the Site Services Lead.

GENERAL PROFILE:
Management of Compliance Technicians: setting objectives, employee development, daily/shift management, schedule, vacations, coaching and counselling.
Provide direction and leadership for Compliance Technicians, all Emergency Response functions, and volunteers.
Responsible for the management of the emergency response team both full time and volunteers, training, equipment, tactical response and other emergency response functions for fire, hazmat, rescue, medical and security functions.
Prioritization of emergency management priorities to align with high-level site strategic plans as identified by the Site Services Lead.
Develop the best internal practices and benchmarks externally to provide a world class organization.
Responsible for the organization and operation of a complete program for all phases of emergency response and security services for the site to include procedures, people, equipment, PM’s and training.
Ensure that all documentation is accurate and updated.
Ensures training and skill level compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, NFPA 472 and DOT 49 CFR 172.700 for Hazmat; OSHA 29 CFR 1910.156, NFPA 1001, and1002 for Firefighter; OSHA 29 CFR 1926.50 and NFPA 450 for medical responder, and certification in CPR, First Aid and AED through either American Heart or American Red Cross.
Responsible for the site’s preventative maintenance program for life safety and loss prevention.
Ensure PM’s are complete accurately and on time.
Ensures PM accuracy and will be responsible for the creation, modification and deletion of PM’s as needed and required.
Schedules for the repair, inspections and maintenance of all loss prevention and life safety systems.
Partner with local Municipality and County emergency response organizations.
Collaborate with Global Security and external partners to deliver and support all response (fire, security, emergency) needs for the site.
Leverage relationships with key clients/customers/organizational leadership to ensure support of business needs and accomplishments of key objectives.
Ensure that all documentation is accurate and updated.
Works under limited supervision and independently.

BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
