<p><span>ReOrbit is looking for an MGSE Engineer to join our team in Helsinki.</span></p><p><span>In this role, you will follow a systems engineering approach to Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), supporting the definition, sourcing, certification, and lifecycle management of equipment used across satellite programs. You will work across multiple disciplines to ensure all required equipment is specified, delivered, and integrated in line with mission needs.</span></p><p><span>This is a hands-on engineering role with strong cross-functional exposure, requiring both technical depth and coordination across teams and external partners.</span></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><span>• Follow a systems engineering approach to MGSE across the full satellite lifecycle</span></p><p><span>• Support the end-to-end process of defining, sourcing, certifying, and managing MGSE</span></p><p><span>• Contribute to defining equipment needs across lifting, handling, transport, tooling, and test hardware (thermal, vibration, acoustic, optical, EMI/EMC)</span></p><p><span>• Create and maintain lists of required equipment and support specification definition</span></p><p><span>• Support trade-off analysis between in-house development and external sourcing</span></p><p><span>• Contribute to internal MGSE design activities and engineering development</span></p><p><span>• Support work package management, including tracking progress and deliverables</span></p><p><span>• Coordinate with suppliers and follow up on externally developed equipment</span></p><p><span>• Ensure equipment specifications align with industry standards and regulations</span></p><p><span>• Support configuration management activities, ensuring proper documentation in PLM and ERP systems</span></p><p><span>• Help ensure equipment is delivered on time, on specification, and within budget</span></p><p><span>• Maintain and communicate schedules, highlighting risks and potential delays</span></p><p><span>• Collaborate with AIT, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and other teams to ensure alignment</span></p><p><strong>Skills and Requirements</strong></p><p><span>• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field</span></p><p><span>• At least 10 + years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or space systems</span></p><p><span>• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including the V-model</span></p><p><span>• Solid background in mechanical engineering, including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis</span></p><p><span>• Good understanding of related disciplines such as electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and AIT</span></p><p><span>• Ability to understand and translate system and subsystem requirements into equipment specifications</span></p><p><span>• Understanding of the full satellite lifecycle</span></p><p><span>• Experience working with suppliers and external partners</span></p><p><span>• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal</span></p><p><span>• Fluent written and spoken English</span></p><p></p><p><strong>What does ReOrbit do?</strong></p><p>ReOrbit builds the foundation for the next generation of space applications by transforming satellites into truly intelligent, interconnected platforms, defined by software.
