<p>ReOrbit is looking for a Senior Mechanical Architect to join the team at our HQ in Helsinki, Finland.</p><p>Working as part of a multi disciplinary team this individual will be part of a team leading the full end to end life cycle of the mechanical and thermal activities. It's an exciting opportunity to be involved from the beginning in projects that are pushing the boundaries of existing space data technology.</p><p>We are looking for a versatile engineer, who is confident to get on and get things done, big on teamwork and is flexible in their approach. We need someone who enjoys working with partners and suppliers and feels comfortable asking the difficult questions.</p><p>It's an exciting chance to join a dynamic start-up, with the opportunity to make a real impact, to reach our goal of pushing the boundaries of space data transfer.</p><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Satellite and launcher requirements analysis</p></li><li><p>Physical architecture trade off analysis, including primary and secondary structural design, based on mission and satellite constraints</p></li><li><p>Launch and flight configuration trade offs</p></li><li><p>Mass budget management (CoG, alignment, moments of inertia), including structural, quasi-static, and vibration analysis</p></li><li><p>Field of view and motion mechanism design and analysis</p></li><li><p>Support of AIT design and implementation flow, including GSE design and trade off analysis</p></li><li><p>Satellite alignment strategy design and implementation</p></li><li><p>Collaboration with systems engineering on unit accommodation, trade-offs, system-level FMEA, and electrical architecture</p></li><li><p>Supply chain technical management and component pre selection</p></li><li><p>Mechanical, static, and dynamic analysis, including development and maintenance of mathematical models</p></li><li><p>Support for feasibility studies and concurrent engineering activities</p></li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field</p></li><li><p>10+ years of relevant experience in the GEO space industry</p></li><li><p>End-to-end knowledge of the lifecycle of space-related mechanical subsystems</p></li><li><p>Strong data analysis capabilities (e.g. scripting or similar tools), with ability to derive insights, manage design documentation, and review/approve design changes</p></li><li><p>Experience working closely with external vendors and consortium partners</p></li><li><p>FEM capability, with hands-on expertise in NASTRAN and NX CAD/CAE tools</p></li><li><p>Experience in mechanical and/or thermal qualification campaigns within the space domain</p></li><li><p>Background in testing and analysis, including model validation, correlation, CLA, and model reduction</p></li><li><p>Experience across the full development lifecycle (design trades, CAD design, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, qualification)</p></li><li><p>Fluent in written and spoken English</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What does ReOrbit do?</strong></p><p>ReOrbit builds the foundation for the next generation of space applications by transforming satellites into truly intelligent, interconnected platforms, defined by software.
