Job description
We are seeking a Researcher to join the Reference Systems research group within the Department of Geodesy and Geodynamics for a fixed-term position from 1 June 2026 to 31 December 2027. The position is fixed term due to the limited duration of the project.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled researcher to model the performance of quantum gravimeters in detecting various gravity anomalies. The work involves designing physical computation models, numerical simulations, and developing detection algorithms. The research project is funded by the Scientific Advisory Board for Defence (MATINE).
Responsibilities
- Develop a simulator for evaluating the performance of a quantum gravimeter, including:
- Simulation of observations
- Simulation of mass anomaly models
- Design of algorithms for anomaly detection
- Validation of results using real observation data
- Reporting and documenting research outcomes
- Statutory qualification and language proficiency requirements
- Our expectations of the applicant
- A master's degree in physics, geophysics, applied mathematics, or a related field.

- Experience in simulation and physical modelling.
- Programming skills (Python, Matlab).
- Good communication skills, as well as strong teamwork abilities.
