Role Overview

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting customers through on-site technical service activities, including installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of chromatography and spectroscopy systems. You will work with a variety of hardware, software, and networking solutions, ensuring optimal system performance and high customer satisfaction.

This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring frequent travel and strong technical expertise, as well as the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support to customers, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems.
  • Install and optimize hardware, software, and network configurations at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical and performance-related issues in analytical instruments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service activities.
  • Advise customers on best practices for system use, maintenance, and configuration to improve performance and reliability.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment or software issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions (non-design role), including peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
  • Act as a technical resource for internal teams and manage product escalations when necessary.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams to deliver effective customer solutions.
  • Provide technical training, workshops, and seminars for customers and internal teams.
  • Train and mentor other field engineers when needed.
  • Perform on-site calibration for high-volume customers.
  • Support lead qualification activities when required.

  • Approximately 85% of time spent visiting customer sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in
  • Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology
  • , or a related scientific field
  • Strong English proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Preferred Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Basic knowledge of third-party laboratory instrumentation is a plus
