Department of Physics's Accelerator Laboratory is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher in Radiation effects in power electronics starting 4 January 2026, or as soon as possible after that for 2 years.
This fixed-term contract position is co-funded by the European Commission (RADNEXT 2030 project) and the University of Jyväskylä.
The postdoctoral researcher will develop radiation testing guidelines for wide-bandgap (WBG) power electronics technologies, such as silicon carbide (SiC)- and gallium nitride (GaN)-based power devices. Tasks will include:
Review of published studies in radiation effects, failure mechanisms and test practices specific to WBG materials
Radiation effects testing of WBG-based components and developing the test methodologies based on existing practices
Drafting of application-specific guidelines on test setup and procedures for radiation testing of WBG devices: Deliverable D3.2
Depending on the researcher's skillset and preferences, the work may also include developing the experimental setup and data acquisition and analysis software.
