Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Structural Design to lead structural engineering and design delivery across large-scale Data Centre developments in Finland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing structural design teams, overseeing technical delivery across all RIBA Stages (0-7) and acting as a key client-facing representative.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural design teams across hyperscale Data Centre projects.
- Oversee structural design delivery across RIBA Stages 0-7, from initial feasibility and concept design through detailed design, construction and handover.
- Act as the primary client-facing structural design lead, managing relationships with developers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Oversee structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, framing systems and other CSA structural packages.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across structural, architectural, civil, MEP and BIM teams.
- Review and approve structural calculations, technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
- Manage design programmes, technical deliverables, project budgets and resource allocation.
- Attend and lead client meetings, technical workshops and design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Finnish building regulations, Eurocodes and project specifications.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in structural design leadership within Data Centres, industrial or mission-critical environments.
- Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA Stages 0-7.
- Strong client-facing experience within an engineering or design consultancy.
- Technical expertise in structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations and structural engineering.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
