Job Description
Core Technology is a business-driven team of professionals, that develop and support technology solutions for customers of all business areas. Our deliverables cover automation/lifting device controls, human-machine interfaces, embedded electronics, motor controls, inverter technologies, product sustainability, reliability and asset intelligence.
Purpose of the Role
As material handling devices become increasingly intelligent and connected to external systems, managing machine control solutions at the system level becomes critical. While technologies, components, modules, and operational processes are primarily owned by component and platform owners, certain system-level issues fall outside existing ownership structures - for example, addressing compliance requirements at the architectural level in line with company recommendations. The System Architect, Machine Controls assumes responsibility for these cross-cutting concerns to ensure coherence, integration, and alignment.
Responsibilities
- Envision and guide machine control system architecture, managing system design from high-level views down to component details
- Coordinate cross-functional technical efforts, driving technical system-level coordination across the corporation
- Provide architectural guidance, mentoring, and best practices to engineering teams, fostering system-level thinking and strengthening architectural capabilities across the organization
