Sourcing Engineer – Electronics and RF Categories

Responsibilities

• As a Sourcing Engineer, you will play a key role in securing the supply of technically demanding electronic components and modules used in advanced electronic warfare systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams and global suppliers to ensure access to cutting-edge technologies in a fast-evolving and strategically important environment.
• You will be responsible for sourcing within advanced electronics categories. Previous experience in the relevant categories is beneficial; however, we also welcome sourcing professionals with experience in other complex technical categories and an interest in developing their expertise further.
• As part of the Sourcing and Production team, you will manage relationships with current and potential suppliers and work closely with stakeholders across engineering, projects, production, quality and supply chain. Your work will help ensure an efficient, resilient and uninterrupted supply chain that meets project and production needs.
• The role includes occasional domestic and international travel to supplier sites, Saab locations and industry events, typically accounting for approximately 10-20% of working time.
• The role operates in a challenging and complex environment, where Saab continuously pushes the boundaries of what is technically possible. Success in this role requires strong communication and planning skills, a commercial and analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to supplier management.
• Take commercial responsibility for assigned sourcing categories supporting projects and production throughout the product lifecycle.
• Continuously assess the competitiveness, capability, capacity and risk profile of the supplier portfolio.
• Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships, in close co-operation with internal stakeholders.
