Senior Software Engineer - Flight Operations Backend
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a leading role in the development of the Avinode Flight Operations product offering. As a member of a product team made up of a Product Manager, UX Designer, Test Lead, and Software Engineers, you will plan, implement, and release business-critical features for customers across the business aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Working together with your teammates, design appropriate technical solutions to implement new product features and improve current features. You will be working both in our existing C# .NET monolith (with React frontend) as well as developing new services when needed.
- Maintain and improve the team’s CI/CD tooling, including cloud deployments to Azure.
- Work to bring our codebase up to date with current best practices, libraries, and platforms.
- Research and advocate for new technologies and techniques that would be beneficial to your team and/or the wider Engineering organisation.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced engineers as a technical resource to Avinode Group as a whole, providing information, advice, and technical assistance when requested.
- Who you are
- You have 7+ years of experience building systems with .Net Framework and .Net Core and some experience working with React frontends. You are more experienced with backend development, but you will be expected to contribute to all parts of the stack when necessary.
- You have 2+ years experience with relational databases and related tooling such as ORMs. We use MS SQL Server, but experience with another major RDBMS such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, etc is fine.
- You have experience managing and securing resources in a major public cloud such as Azure (which we use), AWS, or GCP.
- You have a proven track record of leading projects, mentoring other members of your team, and researching and integrating new tools and technologies into your work.
