The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of Gene regulation and Single cell genomics. The position is hosted by the School of Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences and located on the Kuopio Campus. The position will be filled for a 3-year term from 1 January 2027 onwards (or as agreed) in the research team led by Prof. Merja Heinäniemi. Role and salary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, broadly knowledgeable Postdoctoral Researcher who is familiar with genomics and bioinformatics methodology to drive projects focusing on deciphering gene regulatory mechanisms in leukemic and immune cells.

As our new Postdoctoral Researcher in Gene regulation and Single cell genomics, your research focus will be on generating, analysing and integrating transcriptome, chromatin access and transcription factor binding datasets at bulk and single cell resolution with the aim to connect these profiles with the underlying regulatory networks, and immune/leukemia cell state dynamics.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide-reaching international and interdisciplinary team of leading experts in leukemia biology, immunology, gene regulation, computational biology and clinicians.

Your main responsibilities will include:planning and conducting genomics-based studies related to leukemia biology and immunology,

benchmarking and developing genomics and single cell methodology,

reporting and creating high-quality scientific publications,

participating in the preparation of research proposals in your field.
