Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python / Playwright)

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer who approaches quality as an engineering discipline embedded in system design - not as a separate phase at the end of delivery. You will help shape how testing, automation, and observability evolve across a cloud-native SaaS platform built with React / Next.js, Material UI, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL, running in a Kubernetes-based environment.

Our software supports ERP and operational workflows within the circular economy and waste management domain - systems that combine real-world logistics, regulatory constraints, and data-intensive processes. Reliability and long-term maintainability matter more than short-lived feature velocity.

Our development workflow is strongly automation-driven and AI-assisted. Faster iteration cycles place greater emphasis on thoughtful test strategy, instrumentation, and feedback loops. We're looking for someone who can help engineering teams move confidently without sacrificing system integrity.

This role is hands-on but also strategic: you will influence practices, help define pragmatic standards, and raise the overall maturity of automation across the platform.

What You'll Work On Designing and evolving end-to-end and integration automation

Building sustainable testing frameworks across the stack

Working closely with developers to ensure systems are testable by design

Integrating automation into CI/CD (Bitbucket Pipelines) and reducing friction in the delivery process

What You Bring Technical Experience Strong Python / JS / TS background in automation contexts, with deep hands-on Playwright experience

Experience testing modern React-based web applications and component-driven UIs (Material UI or similar)

Strong API and service testing experience; familiarity with FastAPI-style architectures is a plus

Integration testing against PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, and systems deployed on Kubernetes or other cloud-native environments
