What We're Looking For
At Vitec Tietomitta, we're looking for a senior software engineer. The role is deliberately broad - architecture, product decisions, and hands-on delivery - on a small senior team where AI agents do a large share of the implementation and your judgment does the rest. Judgment is what we're really hiring for - it's the part we can't teach. We also require genuine hands-on fluency in Python and TypeScript/React: the agent won't always get it right, and you need to recognize when it hasn't.

Requirements
- At Vitec Tietomitta, we're looking for a senior software engineer. The role is deliberately broad - architecture, product decisions, and hands-on delivery - on a small senior team where AI agents do a large share of the implementation and your judgment does the rest. Judgment is what we're really hiring for - it's the part we can't teach. We also require genuine hands-on fluency in Python and TypeScript/React: the agent won't always get it right, and you need to recognize when it hasn't.
- Must-have Senior-level (10+ years) shipping production software end-to-end, backend and frontend - you've owned systems, not tickets
- Genuine experience delivering multi-tenant SaaS at scale - you've run software in production for many customers and lived with what that brings: releases and migrations without downtime, performance under real load, per-customer configuration, and monitoring
- Fluent, daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) - you delegate implementation, review the output critically, and recognize when the agent is confidently wrong
- Strong architectural understanding - system boundaries, data flow, integration patterns, and the trade-offs between them; able to justify a design, make the call independently, and revisit it when reality disagrees. This is not a ticket-factory role.
- Proactive, customer-driven product behavior - you engage directly with stakeholders and end users if needed, challenge requirements that don't hold up, and optimize for the outcome rather than the ticket
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and TypeScript/React - this is our stack. When the agent stalls or produces something subtly wrong, you need to read and fix the code yourself.
- Fluent English - the working language of the engineering team; codebase and documentation are in English
- Things we'd like, but are not a must Depth in our specific frameworks - FastAPI, Next.js (app router, server components), PostgreSQL.
