Join Beneq as a Mechanical Engineer – Advanced ALD Business Unit, Spatial Team
Ready to put your mechanical design skills at the core of next-gen ALD hardware? At Beneq, you'll take real ownership of mechanical systems for our Spatial ALD tools — from concept and CAD through to installed hardware at customer sites. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who wants to be in the design, in the lab, and in front of the customer.
Beneq, a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) technology, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Spatial team within our Advanced ALD Business Unit, based at our headquarters in Espoo, Finland.
Your Role at Beneq
You will own the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for our spatial ALD platforms. You'll work alongside experienced Mechanical engineers, and closely with electrical, software/automation, and process development engineers as well as production, supply chain, and service teams.
You'll also work directly with customers: capturing technical requirements, designing project-specific modifications, and supporting installations, upgrades, and technical reviews. Expect to move between the design desk, the assembly floor, and customer discussions in the same week.
Your Key Responsibilities
Designing mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, and vacuum structures in 3D CAD, with the drawings and documentation to support them.
Prototyping, testing, and analysing components — stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis.
Working hands-on with tool builds: assembly support, fit checks, measurements, and design verification.
Translating customer requirements into project-specific designs, and supporting field cases, installations, and upgrades.
Leading root cause analysis for mechanical issues and driving corrective actions and product improvements.
Optimizing designs for manufacturability and serviceability with production and supply chain, and maintaining pr
