About this role

Responsibilities

• You find business processes that should work differently, redesign them with the people who run them, and build the software and automation the new process needs.
• The work is usually in the gaps between people and systems: manual handoffs, duplicated work, and decisions that still depend on people to coordinate them.
• You'd join a small team responsible for the data, systems and internal software behind how Aiven operates. You'll work closely with teams across the business and our strategy team. We're based at Aiven's Helsinki HQ and work together in the office three days a week.
• Your job is to work out what should disappear, what needs software, where a model helps and where a person should still decide and then build it.
• There's more work than we can take on. Part of the job is deciding, with the team and business owners, which problems are worth solving.
• What good looks like: within your first six months, at least one manual, deadline-driven workflow runs without someone manually coordinating it. Failures recover safely, exceptions reach the right person, and the process is observable and auditable.
• What this is not: This isn't ERP administration, legacy RPA or a point-and-click automation role.
