Boliden Kevitsa is looking for a permanent employee for the position of
Database Geologist
As a Database Geologist, you will be responsible for managing, quality assuring and developing the geological database. The role is key to the entire mining operation, as high-quality geological data forms the basis for production planning, grade control, reporting and decision-making. You will also participate in the development of digital tools and software solutions in cooperation with internal stakeholders, software suppliers and consultants.
Your responsibilities will include, for example:
maintaining and developing geological databases
quality assurance of geological data (QA/QC)
preparing and updating instructions and ways of working related to databases and quality management
creating and further developing Power BI reports
developing reconciliation between forecasts and actual production
developing and maintaining geological software
participating in various development and project tasks.
You do not need to master all these responsibilities from day one, we will provide induction for the different areas of the role.
Who will you work with?
You will join Kevitsa's mine geology team and work closely with geology, mine planning, the concentrator and other mining operations in particular.
You will mainly work at the Kevitsa mine in Sodankylä. The role also occasionally includes work in sample handling facilities, in the open pit and elsewhere in the mining area. Partial remote work is possible in this position.
