Development Engineer Engine Control
Role Summary
This role is part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden.
You will join the Engine After-treatment Control Software team, working with software that controls exhaust after-treatment systems, including urea dosing and emission performance. The role covers the full development cycle - from early concept development to implementation, testing and verification in both test environments and real vehicles. You will contribute to improving system performance and solving complex technical challenges in close collaboration with hardware and cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will work on the development of functionality related to exhaust after-treatment systems. You will contribute throughout the full development cycle - from concept development to implementation, testing, and long-term support.
Your responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining control and diagnostic functions for after-treatment components
Contributing to system understanding and improving functionality performance
Working with software development in C.
Supporting analysis, testing and verification both in test benches and in vehicles
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and improve system performance
Contributing to the continuous improvement of methods, tools and ways of working

Who You Are
You have a Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., software, mechanical, or chemical engineering) or equivalent experience
You bring programming experience (preferably C and/or MATLAB) or strong logical and analytical thinking
A solid interest in systems understanding and problem-solving, as well as the ability to collaborate with others, is essential
You are a positive, proactive team player who is eager to learn and develop
