About this role

Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for reliable application services and continuous improvement? We are looking for an IT Application Specialist to support and develop business-critical applications in a manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will ensure safe, stable and efficient application services for the site(s) in scope and act as a trusted partner for business stakeholders. You will work closely with local business teams, OT, IT colleagues and external service providers to support daily operations and drive improvements through standardization, automation and development initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

Ensure safe and reliable application support in line with agreed service levels

Manage the lifecycle of software applications, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades and retirement

Support end-users, resolve incidents and maintain high-quality documentation and tickets in ITSM tools

Configure and customize applications to meet manufacturing business needs

Collaborate with IT, OT, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure smooth integrations and data flows

Support application testing, deployment and validation activities

Ensure applications comply with IT security policies and relevant regulations

Identify opportunities to improve processes and application functionality

Provide training and guidance to users on application features and best practices

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Information Systems, IT or equivalent industry experience
  • Several years of experience in IT application support, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP and/or MES systems
  • Intermediate skills in server operating systems and cloud technologies
  • Intermediate skills in database administration, such as Oracle, MS SQL or MySQL
  • Basic programming skills are considered an advantage, for example Java, Python, C/C++, .NET, COBOL or Microsoft technologies
  • Good problem-solving skills and a quality-focused way of working
