Join Our Team as a Process Development Engineer, P-Series! (Fixed-term, ~1-year parental leave cover)

We're currently seeking a talented Process Development Engineer to join our Advanced ALD Business Unit in the P-Series team on a fixed-term basis, covering parental leave for approximately one year. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of industrial large batch atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology, working on groundbreaking solutions for optical devices, protective coatings, and beyond.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a process development engineer you will investigate batch production feasibility of ALD processes, demonstrate ALD coatings on new product applications, scale up production from single product demos to large batch manufacturing concepts and run pilot production.

Key Responsibilities include:

Perform process development and optimisation for industrial customers and internal needs on new and existing ALD processes and applications

Coat demo samples for customers to showcase ALD performance in their applications

Scale up and conduct pilot production

Manage customer communication

Write technical reports and documentation

Maintain ALD and metrology equipment

Support sales and marketing as a technical expert on ALD coatings and applications

Requirements

  • To excel in this role, you should have:
  • A strong educational background in physical sciences or materials science, typically at the MSc or PhD level.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing technical or scientific texts.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on attitude towards working with production and metrology equipment.
  • Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have):
  • Experience in atomic layer deposition or other thin film deposition techniques.
  • Experience in thin film characterization techniques.
  • Experience in CAD, CFD or data analysis
