Arctial is looking for a Business Development Analyst to join its Commercial team in Helsinki, and support the development of offtakes, partnerships, and upstream/downstream commercial agreements across the smelter and rolling mill project.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will combine deep data analysis and commercial modelling with the production of high-quality materials for internal and external stakeholders. You will also play a key role in driving the adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows to increase the speed, quality, and impact of the Commercial team's work.
Your responsibilities include:
Build and maintain commercial models supporting decision-making on sales and sourcing agreements, logistics structures, partnership economics, and pricing mechanisms (LME, regional premiums, low-carbon premiums)
Distill insights from market signals across multiple sources; commodity pricing, supply/demand drivers, competitor moves, macroeconomic and policy trends (CBAM, ETS, trade measures), into clear, decision-ready outputs.
Support negotiation and structuring of upstream (alumina, anodes, power) and downstream (metal offtake, rolling mill customer) agreements, including scenario modelling and term-sheet analysis
Produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences; board of directors, shareholders, customers, suppliers, financiers, and government counterparts
ESG, carbon footprint, and decarbonisation: track market developments and help shape Arctial's own decarbonisation roadmap and progress on initiatives
Commercial systems and tooling: act as the Commercial team's interface with IT vendors - scoping needs, evaluating options, and tracking implementation of systems such as CRM and S&OP
Spearhead the use of AI agents and automation across Commercial workflows and between functions: market monitoring, document review, model construction, counterparty research, and reporting. Drive continuous improvement in how the team operates
