The Position

Roche diagnostics has a broad portfolio of 1000+ products across several business areas that include our widely-used molecular, pathology, near patient care and core lab solutions in conjunction with our diagnostics and healthcare insights digital solutions.

The Portfolio Management team works as part of the Portfolio and Project Management group to help each of these areas track and manage their portfolio from a strategic vantage point.

As part of the Portfolio Management team, the Cross-Portfolio Managers think holistically about the Diagnostics portfolio to ensure that strategic trade-offs are made to realize our overall strategic imperatives. Cross-Portfolio Managers work closely with colleagues from the broader Portfolio Management team including our Business Insights & Analytics Maangers to to develop tools and derive insights relevant for effective portfolio management.

The Opportunity

You work closely with Customer Area Portfolio Managers, Business Analytics & Insights Managers, Project Managers and Finance to drive portfolio transparency and generate relevant portfolio insights for decision making

You improve available portfolio tools and generate relevant reports to support strategic portfolio management

You ensure excellent portfolio management by placing individual portfolio decisions in the context of the broader pipeline

You enable overview of critical portfolio

interdependencies

You lead dedicated strategy initiatives across and within the different Roche Diagnostics customer areas

You maintain expert knowledge of industry trends, competition, and current/emerging technologies to guide overall portfolio management

You coach other members of the team, develop new skills and provide ongoing, constructive feedback on performance and progress toward goals and expectations

Who you are

You hold an advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, or business (ideally a PhD, MD, or MBA)

You have 3+ years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategic development preferred

You have a proven track record of influencing and presenting complex strategic topics to senior management and key stakeholders

You possess strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and build quantitative models

You are skilled at distilling complex or abstract problems into succinct strategic frameworks and tactical plans

You have the ability to influence senior leadership through active listening, excellent communication, and strong facilitation skills

You can clearly articulate critical analytical findings to senior leadership and drug development teams

You effectively facilitate discussions with business leaders and cross-functional teams to develop insights and drive alignment on strategic decisions
