The role

The Core Systems team at Sharkmob is responsible for, among other things, the complex domain of rendering. This is an area where we are determined to improve both capacity and skill, and to that end we’re looking for an engineer with extensive experience – someone who will bite into the hardest challenges in levelling up the visual fidelity and performance of our game.

As an experienced Render Engineer in the Core Systems team you'll be able to help expand and redefine the team's responsibilities and scope, and set new standards for how our game looks and plays.

Responsibilities

  • The Core Systems team at Sharkmob is responsible for, among other things, the complex domain of rendering. This is an area where we are determined to improve both capacity and skill, and to that end we’re looking for an engineer with extensive experience – someone who will bite into the hardest challenges in levelling up the visual fidelity and performance of our game.
  • As an experienced Render Engineer in the Core Systems team you'll be able to help expand and redefine the team's responsibilities and scope, and set new standards for how our game looks and plays.
  • You thrive on sharing what you know. Whether it's explaining why a solution works, reviewing a colleague's approach, or spotting a teachable moment in a tricky bug - helping those around you grow as engineers comes naturally to you.
  • Some examples of what we'll be doing:
  • Console development
  • Rendering features, such as modern lighting techniques, that support our game’s goals for visual fidelity
  • GPU, CPU and memory optimization, including improved concurrency
  • Diagnosing, fixing and preventing GPU and CPU crashes in render systems
  • Desired experience and skills - you have:
  • Excellent mastery of C++ and shader programming
  • Contributed significantly throughout the full development cycle, from pre-production to live, for at least one game on PC and console
  • Great understanding of how modern rendering pipelines and techniques using DirectX 12/Vulkan work
  • In-depth understanding of CPU and GPU architecture
  • Exceptional skill in designing, implementing, improving upon, and working in a feature-rich game engine
