Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for a new Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Digital Systems, ELDS in Vaasa. In this position you will design, implement and commission automation and communication systems for the electrification of industrial plants, data centers, wind/solar plants and utility substations. The role will also include co-operating with customer representatives with a continuous development approach as well as system testing in the ABB Vaasa laboratory and on customer sites.

Due to the nature of the work and location of the development lab, majority of the work is Vaasa based. Additionally, you should be available for work-related travel, approximately 25 days a year.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Planning control systems for customer electrification networks and implementing automation systems in customer projects

Engineering of communication devices and communication systems

Handling configurations for the Zenon based SCADA control system (ZEE600)

Systemtesting in ABB Vaasa laboratory as well as on customer sites

Qualifications for the role

B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a field like Information, Automation or Communication Technology

Solid (> 5 years) relevant work experience from automation and control system engineering

Experience from engineering of control systems

Excellent English and Finnish, both written and spoken

The ability to build customer relationships with a long-term focus

A proactive and systematic way of working

Knowledge of PLC or RTU devices and other relevant automation and c
