Senior Research Scientist – Synthetic chemistry in Oligonucleotide field

We are now looking for a Senior Research Scientist to join a highly innovative and research-driven global pharmaceutical company in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is a 12-month consulting assignment with employment through Poolia, starting in August.
About the position
As Senior Research Scientist, you will join a growing Oligonucleotide Chemistry team within a dynamic R&D environment focused on advancing next-generation oligonucleotide therapeutics. The team works in close collaboration with experts across Discovery Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, DMPK, Safety and Pharmaceutical Sciences to drive drug discovery projects forward.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in synthetic organic chemistry to support the development of innovative therapeutics across multiple disease areas. Reponsibilities
In this role, you will act as a synthesis specialist with focus on the development of oligonucleotide-based drug candidates. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, planning and executing synthetic chemistry experiments independently
Synthesizing and purifying high-quality oligonucleotides, building blocks and advanced organic molecules
Applying modern synthetic, purification and analytical techniques to support project progression
Developing new building blocks, linkers and methodologies within the oligonucleotide field
Troubleshooting synthetic challenges and contributing to scientific problem-solving
Collaborating closely with cross-functional project teams to ensure timely delivery of project goals
Supporting and mentoring junior scientists when needed
Contributing to a strong scientific culture with high standards and collabor
