About the role

Global Clinical Solutions (GCS)

drives the delivery of services and technology for AstraZeneca for its internal and external stakeholders.

The Specialist, GCS

delivers global centralised services across drug projects and/or other activities that enable delivery of Clinical Development programs to time, cost, and quality across all delivery models.

Global Clinical Solutions is a centralized group for

R&D

supporting equally Oncology and Biopharmaceuticals. The leaders, teams and individuals provide extensive knowledge and expertise to drive excellence in Technology Management, Document and future Unified Systems ownership, Study and Digital Solutions. Digital Patient Solutions (DPS) team is part of GCS. DPS stands for use of computing platforms, connectivity, software, sensors etc. for health care and related uses. Within our organization DPS is defined as electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment (eCOA) plus additional technology such as Spirometry or eConsent. DPS team supports delivery of such systems and technologies to clinical trials.

Individuals in the role will ensure the population and availability of complete, high quality data from clinical operations processes/procedures and systems. They may deliver trainings in relation to system procedures and/or processes and participate in the coordination of the life cycle management of processes and systems/tools including associated documentation (procedural, system).

All Specialists, GCS will participate in improvement projects as needed, and will contribute to functional and regional initiatives.

Sets up and

maintains

systems/tools and data associated with projects,

services

and technology in partnership with Study Teams and external partners to

appropriate standards

, completeness,

quality

and consistency

Supports life cycle management and business continuity for operational processes/procedures, systems/tools, standards, procedural

documentation

and training materials

Provides support to user communities including

conducting

relevant process/system/tool trainings

facilitating

knowledge sharing

establishing

of

best practice

ensuring

communication with relevant stakeholders across GCS and AZ

Performs

analyses

of processes and tools to define business usage and

identify

opportunities to improve efficiency/effectiveness of systems/methods/processes; Support in User Requirement Specifications and User Acceptance Tests

Contributes to business cases for continuous improvement project

Prioritises

workload to achieve personal and work unit targets

Participates in change initiatives

The

GCS Specialist

in

DPS UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

team is expected to be able to take the following roles within the team:

Test Lead – responsible for creating User Acceptance Testing documentation (Test Plan, Test Scripts, Test Report), review of the User Requirement Specification (to understand testing requirements) and tracking testing issues

Tester – responsible for Test Scripts execution

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or other equal education that supports Skills and Capabilities of the position and ensures successful conduct of accountabilities/responsibilities and appropriate interactions with internal/external customers
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to multitasking, time management and have task oriented performance
  • Previous administrative training/experience Computer proficiency
  • Can create and maintain systems for efficiency for both self and others
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exhibit of AZ Values and Behaviors

Nice to have

  • University degree in biological science or health care related field
  • A good understanding of the clinical study process
  • Programming experience or programming aptitude
  • Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in the environment of clinical study delivery/clinical development processes
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development and clinical study processes and associated government regulations, ICH GCP
  • Shown willingness and ability to train others on study support processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify risks and issues as well as possible solutions
