About this role

What will you be doing?

As a Hardware Engineer at Alewijnse, you’ll be working on the electrical backbone of maritime installations. From power and navigation to communication and safety systems – you’ll ensure everything runs seamlessly, both at the shipyard and at sea. You’ll act as the link between engineering and execution, always looking for ways to make things smarter and more efficient.

Your responsibilities include:

Supporting the design of electrical and mechanical systems

Supervising and checking the installation of systems on board

Testing, commissioning and fine-tuning the systems with the team

Ensuring everything functions as intended – or better

Collaborating closely with engineers, electricians, and project teams

A monthly salary between €3,800 and €4,500 (based on full-time), plus overtime compensation

Who are you?

You’re a hands-on technician with a strong sense of maritime systems. You enjoy taking the lead and thrive in a dynamic project environment where you learn something new every day.

You bring:

A higher vocational (HBO) level of thinking, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics

Experience with shipboard electrical systems (preferred)

Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-focused approach

The drive to work as part of a team and deliver great results together
