Research & Innovation (R&I) in Technology Standards lays the path for Nokia's future technology innovation and identifies the most promising areas for Nokia to create new value. Within R&I, we drive Nokia's technology leadership by developing and bringing innovative concepts to industry and standardization organizations. R&I also works within the ecosystems to ensure an inventor friendly industry environment, favorable to Nokia's business success. The unit has a strategic objective of anticipating, shaping, and protecting future technologies and systems and ensuring appropriate standards and industry specifications are developed.

Responsibilities

  • Research in Research & Innovation comprises fundamental systematic research of an exploratory nature for developing new products and services as well as disruptive technologies superseding conventional approaches. It covers the provision of a comprehensive understanding of scientific insights, specifically leading to (pre-) standardization of ideas and concepts for 5G-Advanced and 6G technologies. We are looking for highly motivated and skilled people with a solid background in mobile radio networks to drive progress in 5G-Advanced and 6G radio technology within the area of measurements and requirements for radio resource management.

  • Drive progress as a technical lead, contributing to new product features, protocols, and standards in mobile communication, focusing on future 3GPP systems, specifically 5G-Advanced and 6G.
  • Work with a world-class team to drive 6G radio technologies and the evolution of 5G-Advanced in global standardization.
  • Research and develop technologies for driving innovation in RRM area, including measurements and requirements for next generation
