AIG is looking for a Junior Underwriter to join our Nordic Financial Lines team in Stockholm. In this role, you will train to become a specialist in Management Liability Commercial (MLC). You will work with high-stakes products like Directors & Officers (D&O) liability, Crime insurance, and Employment Practices Liability, protecting the decision-makers of the Nordic region’s largest companies.

Your impact and responsibilities
As a Junior Underwriter, you will build a solid foundation in risk analysis and portfolio management. You support the team in driving growth while gradually taking ownership of your own tasks.
Your key responsibilities include:
Risk Analysis:
Assessing the financial health and legal exposure of companies to make informed underwriting decisions.
Underwriting Support:
Structuring and pricing insurance policies that align with AIG’s strategy and client needs.
Broker Collaboration:
Developing relationships with brokers and clients through daily commercial dialogue and prompt service.
Cross-border Teamwork:
Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including Claims and Distribution, to provide comprehensive solutions across the Nordics.
What you’ll need to succeed
This role is designed for an early-career professional with zero to a couple of years of experience. You do not need to be an insurance expert yet, but you must have the curiosity to become one.
A university degree in Law, Economics, Business, or a related field.
You see yourself as being proactive, curious, and taking pride in delivering quality work.
An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial statements and legal data.
A commercial approach, feeling comfortable picking up the phone to build relationships with external partners.
Fluency in a Nordic language and English (written and spoken).

You will be based in our centrally located Stockholm office, reporting to the Financial Lines Manager for Finland & Sweden. You will be part of a vibrant Nordic Financial Lines team of 20+ professionals specializing in a wide range of commercial risks. We prioritize collaboration, psychological safety, and shared success.
