The Experiment Control and Data Collection group aims to produce the right tools for scientists to carry out cutting edge research, using all the capabilities of our next generation neutron facility. The tasks and responsibilities of the group include streamlining the user experience to allow the scientists to focus on their scientific goals, building and supporting the whole software data acquisition chain that users will be relying on to carry out their experiments as well as supporting scientists using ESS with their controls and data acquisition requirements. About the Role We are seeking a Software Developer to contribute to the development of software solutions for experiment control and data processing in a large-scale scientific facility. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in Physics and Computer Science, who also have a strong software engineering mindset and can effectively manage good communication across multidisciplinary teams. As a Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of neutron experiments, enhancing experiment control systems, and optimizing data acquisition workflows. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and international collaborators to build robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
