We are looking for a researcher assistant in the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to join the research group of associate professor Armin Wehrfritz in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. The task is fixed-term and the starting time of the position is 1.6.2026, or according to mutual agreement. The contract duration will be 6 months from the starting date.
The position is part of a larger consortium research project within the Zero Emission Marine ecosystem funded by Business Finland ( ). The aim of the overall project is to obtain science-based knowledge on the utilisation of hydrogen as a fuel, enabling the transition to renewable energies.
The topic of the advertised position is primarily focused on understanding the fluid dynamics and thermochemical processes in heat exchangers and injection system. The candidate will use state-of-the-art simulation techniques, namely 3d Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and large-eddy simulation (LES), to study fluid dynamics, heat transfer and phase change in practically relevant configurations.
