Solutions Architect, GitHub Platform (Helsinki / Oulu)

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join the GitHub Platform team within OP Pohjola's Engineering Capabilities organization.

GitHub is the connective tissue across OP Pohjola's engineering organization - the platform through which thousands of developers deliver production every day. The next step is moving to GitHub's cloud-native enterprise platform - the strategic platform foundation for OP Pohjola's next era of agentic software delivery. This is the prerequisite that makes autonomous engineering workflows possible at scale: agents that handle dependency updates, compliance validation, and quality gates without manual intervention at every step. The architectural questions that come with that transition - data sovereignty, identity, compliance integrations, continuity - are what this role is here to shape.

The position is located in either Helsinki or Oulu. Like the rest of OP Pohjola, we combine on-site and remote work flexibly in our daily work.

More about the role

You'll be the Solutions Architect anchoring the GitHub Platform team through this transition - but you won't be doing this alone. This is teamwork, done together with the GitHub Platform team and the adjacent GitHub Pipelines team that owns OP Pohjola's reusable CI/CD capabilities. Your role is to set the architectural direction: identify the tradeoffs, make the risk trade-offs explicit, and give the teams a defensible path forward.

The OP GitHub ecosystem spans CI/CD automation used across the whole engineering organization, elastic compute for build and test workloads, an integrated self-service developer platform, and standardized developer environments. Each is an integration dependency today and a prerequisite for what comes next - the agentic engineering workflows OP Pohjola is moving toward run on this foundation. The architecture must keep them coherent through the transition and position them to carry autonomous workloads.
