What is needed in this role:
To succeed as a DB2 System Programmer, you need deep technical expertise in DB2 on z/OS together with a careful, structured way of working. The role is critical for system stability, performance, and data integrity.
Strong experience with DB2 for z/OS in a production environment
Solid understanding of DB2 system architecture, subsystems, and data sharing
Hands-on experience with DB2 installation, configuration, and maintenance
Knowledge of DB2 upgrades, migrations, and service management
Experience with performance monitoring and tuning (buffer pools, logging, locking, access paths)
Experience working with DB2 system tools (for example IBM tools or vendor equivalents)
Understanding of z/OS concepts, including storage, CPU usage, and system resources
