Purchasing Engineer
About this role
Would you like to work in an international environment in a role that combines technical understanding with hands-on procurement? We are looking for a Purchasing Engineer to strengthen our procurement team for our Riihimäki production. In this role, you will have a direct impact on supply chain performance by building manufacturing BOM structures for engineered-to-order products and ensuring the right materials and parts are available at the right time—while meeting cost and quality targets.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain manufacturing BOM structures for engineer-to-order products
- Support production and work planning together with the production manager work in close collaboration with the production team to resolve daily issues
- Analyze technical drawings and evaluate suitable production options especially for machined metal parts (methods, lead time, cost impact, supplier capacity)
- Run RFQs and competitive tendering for purchased materials and parts
- Create purchase orders and follow up on purchasing progress
- Supplier follow-up: ensure material availability at the right time and maintain active communication with suppliers
- Develop supplier quality in cooperation with the quality team
- Support product costing and pricing activities as needed
- Support the develop of procurement processes and tools for efficiency
- Participate in equipment testing/commissioning when needed
About Elematic Oyj
Relevant technical degree (B.Eng./equivalent) Hands-on understanding of production and manufacturing methods—especially machining of metal parts—and ability to assess manufacturability and production feasibility Experience in building and maintaining item/BOM structures and work/manufacturing plans (ERP/master data) Experience from hands-on procurement of machined metal parts.
