Global Senior Principal Scientist – USP

About this role

Responsibilities

• As a senior member of the Global Process Development (GPD) team, this role provides expert scientific leadership across Lonza’s global Biologics network,
• supporting technical challenges
• and driving the implementation of strategic technology programmes across the network. The position leads complex, multi‑disciplinary projects with a high degree of autonomy, influencing business decisions and ensuring successful delivery through matrixed teams. As a globally recognised subject matter expert, the role holder applies deep technical knowledge to troubleshoot challenges, monitor network‑wide process performance, and shape scientific and technical direction at a global level.

• Contribute to Lonza’s strategic direction to support business growth and new product introduction

Requirements

• BSc in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
• Extensive experience in
• biologics / bioprocessing
• Deep expertise in:
• Mammalian cell culture (CHO)
• GMP facing experience
• USP development & scale-up
• Fed-batch and/or perfusion systems
• Proven
• technical leadership
• Strong communication skills (able to influence stakeholders)
• Experience supporting

• y/late-stage & commercial processes
