We are looking for a Data Engineer to join DNA's Data Management & BI team within the Data, AI & Integrations unit. This is a permanent position based in Helsinki, with flexible remote work options anywhere in Finland. To keep our team spirit strong, we enjoy getting the team together every now and then! We organize regular in-person planning days and value the energy that comes from working side-by-side occasionally.

About the role

In this role, you will be a key contributor to developing our cloud data platform and advancing data management practices. You will collaborate closely with data and BI teams to elevate DNA's data engineering capabilities through AI, while transforming how end users engage with data through conversational analytics and BI.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI-driven data engineering and BI solutions to maximize business value
  • Implement new AI-powered data development and BI practices across value stream teams and business users
  • Perform hands-on data engineering and BI development within the core DataOps team
  • Collaborate closely with IT, business stakeholders, management, and vendors to align technical solutions with business goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • 3+ years experience with cloud data platforms and warehouses (e.g., AWS, GCP, Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Hands-on experience with DataOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile Data Engine, dbt) and data integration tools (e.g., Kafka, CDC)
  • Good understanding of data modeling paradigms (e.g., Data Vault, Dimensional Data Modeling)
  • Proficient in BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Apache Superset
  • Strong SQL and programming skills (Python and/or C/C++)
  • Experience with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, and/or Terraform
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills in English; proficiency in Finnish is considered a plus
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
