We expect you to have relevant work experience in mechanical design with 3D CAD software. Our Measurement Infrastructure team at Bluefors is developing millikelvin cryogenic systems for quantum computing. We deliver cutting-edge designs for next-generation quantum computing systems while driving innovation in cryogenic interconnect technologies. For example, in this position you will work in close collaboration with our Sales, Sourcing and Product Management as well as various manufacturing, assembly and testing teams in addition to external service providers and suppliers. Even though you work very well independently, you also have good teamwork spirit and a positive, hands-on attitude. We have a multicultural work environment with room to grow, where you can use your potential and develop your skills.</p><p><strong>Main responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Design precision mechanical solutions for cryogenic quantum computing systems using modern CAD tools</p></li><li><p>Deliver mechanical designs optimized for manufacturability and reliability at ultra-low temperatures</p></li><li><p>Apply structured product lifecycle management practices (e.g., Windchill) to ensure traceability and quality</p></li><li><p>Document technical progress and collaborate across disciplines (electrical, thermal, materials)</p></li><li><p>Develop prototypes and iterate designs using simulation-driven workflows</p></li><li><p>Engage directly with elite quantum computing programs and research institutions globally</p></li></ul><p><strong>What we expect from you</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Engineering or closely related fields considered)</p></li><li><p>+5 years of experience in product design for high-tech applications or precision manufacturing</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with CAD tools (CREO, SolidWorks, NX, or Autodesk a plus)</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) and modern product development workflows</p></li><li><p>Strong spatial reasoning and ability to design parts under complex constraints</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken</p></li><li><p>Excellent learning skills</p></li><li><p>Independent way of working and hands-on attitude</p></li><li><p>Good teamwork spirit and communication skills</p></li></ul><p><strong>We also appreciate</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience designing sub-millimeter components and assemblies</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of CNC machining methods and toolpath optimization</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with electrical‑mechanical integration practices (connectors, pinouts, harness design)</p></li><li><p>Understanding of additive manufacturing and advanced materials for cryogenic applications</p></li><li><p>Familiarity
