About this role

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master's programme.

We are now looking for a TRAINEE for the Department of Cultures!

Your main tasks as a trainee are assisting in e.g.

Event coordination: planning, coordinating, and organizing events for researchers, the students and the staff

Communication: updating instructions and developing the content for websites and social media pages to promote teaching and research conducted at the Department

Assistance with research publications: technical editing, bibliographies, and communicating with contributors

Other support tasks: such as organising the library and archiving

Assistance with research projects and teaching or curriculum planning are also possible, depending on your qualifications.

We expect you to have an interest in the university administration and the development of higher education. You have good networking, communication, and writing skills. You are able work independently and in an organized manner.

Studying in one of the master's programmes of the Department of Cultures is considered a plus when applying.

We offer you an international, multidisciplinary working environment and interesting tasks. With this position, we wish to encourage students with no previous traineeship experience to apply (and who would like to include the traineeship to their degree).

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
