About this role

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master's programme.

We are now looking for a TRAINEE for the Rule of Law Centre.

The trainee's tasks include:assisting in the planning, practical organisation and reporting of Rule of Law Clinics, meetings and events

drafting meeting minutes, memos, background notes and other project documentation

collecting, compiling and analysing information relevant to projects, partner countries and rule of law development

supporting communication and visibility related to the Centre's work, such as website or event materials and other communication outputs

assisting with other administrative and office tasks as needed

We expect:good written and oral communication skills in English

strong drafting, synthesis and analytical skills

good organisational skills and attention to detail

ability to take initiative and work independently

ability to manage several tasks at once and meet deadlines

good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills

interest in rule of law, human rights, democracy and development cooperation

We appreciate:studies in law or a relevant field in the social sciences, such as political science, international relations, development studies, public policy or a related discipline

experience in research assistance, reporting, event coordination, project administration or communication

knowledge of additional languages

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
