Product Compliance and Safety Manager
About this role
Are you an expert in product compliance and functional safety, and excited about ensuring the safety and reliability of next-generation automation systems? We are looking for a Product Compliance and Safety Managerto join our Automation Solutions R&D organization in Tampere.
In this role, you will lead and coordinate compliance, product safety, and regulatory certification activities across Valmet Automation's product portfolio, ensuring our solutions meet safety and compliance expectations.
You will work as part of a team within Valmet Automation Solutions R&D, collaborating closely with product development, product management, business stakeholders, and external certification partners.
Key responsibilitiesLead and develop product compliance and safety processes across the organization.
Coordinate regulatory compliance activities and ensure adherence to applicable standards and directives.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to embed safety and compliance into product development and operations.
Manage and maintain compliance-related documentation and reporting frameworks.
Support product development, operations, and HSE functions with compliance expertise and guidance.
Drive continuous improvement in safety, regulatory readiness, and compliance processes
Expectations for YouAt least 5 years of experience in product compliance, product safety, or regulatory certification in industrial automation or OT environments
Knowledge of Product Safety, Machinery and Material Compliance obligations (REACH, RoHS, Machinery Regulation)
Familiarity with international compliance frameworks, including CE marking, UL/CSA, EMC, EX/ Atex and Functional Safety, Environmental Standards and ISO9001 Quality Management
Compliance and safety process development
Experience working with notified bodies, test laboratories, and certification organizations
Ability to integrate compliance and safety requirements into product development lifecycle processes
