Data Engineer, Sales & Marketing

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join Neste's retail business to shape how data drives informed and customer-centric decisions.

What will you be doing?

As a Data Engineer, you will join Neste's Data, Analytics & Insights team in Espoo, Finland. The team is a highly skilled group of eight professionals, working as internal consultants and helping Neste's Marketing & Services (Neste Markkinointi Oy) business unit to turn raw data into actionable insights that drive revenue and strategic decisions. Your focus is on ensuring that data solutions truly support business needs. You will work at the intersection of technology and business, collaborating closely with stakeholders across sales, marketing, and finance.

In addition, this role is closely tied to an ERP and data platform transformation project that is now approaching its final stage. The current CRM and key business data sources are being migrated to a cloud platform, designed to replace legacy reporting databases. As the project transitions to the continuous development phase, the focus shifts toward scaling, maintaining, and expanding the platform to serve all business needs.

As a Data Engineer, you will ensure long-term ownership and understanding of the new Snowflake-based platform running on Azure. You will work alongside the existing team and Neste's other data professionals, with the opportunity to take a key role in future development. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining data pipelines and data models, especially using Data Vault 2.0.

At Neste, development is done in an agile, sprint-based model using modern tools such as Agile Data Engine, with data flowing from both batch and streaming sources, including Dynamics 365 as a key input. The team is also moving towards more advanced, agentic development practices, introducing the latest technologies and ways of working.
