Head of Accounting - Finland & Norway

At Danske Bank, we believe that leadership is about inspiring others to succeed. We are therefore looking for an experienced accounting leader to head Accounting for Finland and Norway, placed in Finland. You will lead a team of eight controllers/accountants and be responsible for a high-quality, timely month-end close, tax returns, and continuous improvements to our reporting setup.

Key responsibilitiesLead and develop a team of eight controllers/accountants responsible for the monthly close for our Finnish and Norwegian branch and selected subsidiaries.

Ensure accurate and timely period-end reporting, reconciliations, and documentation.

Prepare annual reports for the Norwegian branch and Danske Mortgage Bank (DMB).

Act as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate audit deliverables.

Drive change initiatives, including implementation of a new accounting system and increased use of AI in finance processes, to ensure a modern and efficient reporting setup.

About youSeveral years of solid experience within accounting and controlling, ideally from a complex organisation.

Proven people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead through changing priorities.

Experience preparing corporate tax returns is preferred.

Strong stakeholder management skills and a structured approach to deadlines and quality.

Fluency in both Finnish and English (spoken and written) is required.

Reporting framework: Group reporting follows IFRS, while local GAAP is applied for some subsidiaries.
