About this role

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact - on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we're pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

We are building new capabilities in CO₂ capture to support the maritime industry's transition toward net-zero emissions. This role sits at the center of that effort, focused on developing and validating carbon capture solutions for fired boiler systems, a key emissions source in offshore and marine applications.

As our technical expert, you will take ownership of developing a chemical CO₂ capture process from early-stage concept through pilot validation and toward industrial application. This is not a support role; you will be one of the few people in this space internally, expected to bring depth, direction, and technical judgment in an area where we are still building competence.

You will work across R&D, engineering, and commercial teams, translating scientific principles into practical solutions that can be deployed in real-world systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical expert for chemical CO₂ capture processes
  • Develop and optimize CO₂ capture solutions based on potassium carbonate systems
  • Evaluate the impact of physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena on process performance
  • Analyze and apply scientific literature to guide technology development
  • Support process modeling, pilot testing, and validation activities
  • Interpret experimental data and translate findings into e
