Job Description

The Lupapiste Engineering Manager leads the Lupapiste development team. This role is responsible for a cross-functional squad of Clojure developers, comprising both internal employees and external partners.

This Lupapiste Engineering Manager provides the leadership necessary to maintain high delivery standards while fostering a culture of technical excellence and career progression. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer, CTO, and serve as the primary link between technical execution and business strategy for our Finnish operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure the predictable delivery of the product roadmap by implementing structured planning readiness, team-level specs grooming and consistent predictability.

Prioritize engineering efforts across customer-facing features, internal product enhancements, and technical debt.

Represent the engineering organization in biweekly Product Steering Groups and weekly project synchronization meetings.

Manage recurring administrative duties, including the Sheriff on-call rotation, vacation scheduling, and contractor invoice approvals.

Oversee the technical health of the Clojure, ClojureScript and Datomic stack. You will complete Pull Request reviews to ensure code quality and system stability.

Champion an efficient developer experience by streamlining our peer review and CI/CD processes. Ensure the platform meets our 99.99 percent uptime and 85 percent automation coverage standards.
