Responsibilities

  • As the Drilling Supervisor, your primary mission will be to supervise the safe and efficient execution of all project field activities.
  • This role offers an exciting opportunity to supervise, innovate and contribute to the continued success and alignment of our onshore site investigation business in Belgium with Fugro’s broader mission and values.
  • Oversee the safe, correct and efficient execution of all on site activities, ensuring full compliance with schedules, quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager on equipment maintenance, preparing and communicating maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Manage equipment and consumables inventory, including stock monitoring in the warehouse and on site.
  • Organize daily work activities, supervise field teams and ensure proper execution of tasks according to Work Orders.
  • Ensure accurate data collection, operational efficiency and appropriate resource allocation (people and materials).
  • Prepare orders for consumables required for site investigations and track progress of ongoing and completed work.
  • Plan and supervise maintenance of workshops, tools and equipment, while staying up to date with industry developments.
  • Liaise internally by daily communication with Project Managers, the Operations Manager and the Technical Expert, and any other Company technical personnel present on site and liaise externally with Client Representatives.
  • Oversee fleet management, ensuring vehicle compliance, insurance follow up, technical inspections and timely maintenance.
  • QHSSE Responsibilities
  • Ensure all field activities are performed safely, in line with Fugro guidelines, standards and specifications.
  • Take responsibility for personnel safety, quality of field work and proper use of PPE.
  • Intervene and stop the job where safety issues present themselves.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, motivate teams to improve safety, quality and productivity, and stop any unsafe operation.
  • Prepare inspections, controls and calibrations of sensitive equipment, and report accidents, incidents and preventive actions.
  • Lead by example and foster a responsible QHSSE mindset across the team.
  • Profile
  • Proven experience in geotechnical drilling and site management.
  • Must have at least 5 years drilling industry experience.
  • Proven experience in team supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of drilling equipment and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and crisis management skills.
  • Fluency in French (mandatory), professional proficiency in English; Dutch is an asset.
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally to support field operations and project needs.
